Troxel recalls swingsets because of faulty bolt fasteners

July 11, 2012—Troxel recalled certain Flexible Flyer swingset models, because the seesaw seats can break away from the bolt fasteners during use, which poses a fall hazard to consumers.

The recalled models and model numbers are as follows: Backyard Flyer (42003), Backyard Fun (42013),Backyard Swingin’ Fun (42023), Big Adventure (41575), Fantastic Playground (42126), Fun Fantastic (41577), Fun Fantastic II (41578), Fun Time (42124), Triple Fun (42544), Triple Fun II (42560) and Windsor II. The model number can be found on a sticker that’s under the center of the top bar of each swingset unit.

The recalled product were sold at Academy, Toys R Us and Walmart stores, and by Internet retailers from December 2011 through May 2012. Troxel received 1,232 reports of breaking seesaw seats that resulted in 13 injuries to young children. The injuries included bruises, bumps and lacerations. Consumers should stop using the swingsets and should contact Troxel for a free repair kit.
