Victory motorcycles recalled due to loose retention bolts
Sept. 26, 2012—Polaris recalled certain 2012–2013 Victory motorcycles that were manufactured from Jan. 3, 2012, through Aug. 15, 2012. The throttle cable retention nuts for either the pull or push throttle cable might have not been torqued correctly. If the torqueing is missed and the retention nuts are loose, the retention nuts that are closest to the throttle body can become dislodged and interfere with the throttle function, which would increase the risk of a crash.
The recalled Victory models are the following: Boardwalk (2013), Cross Country (2012–2013), Cross Roads (2012–2013), Hammer (2012–2013), Hard-Ball (2012–2013), High-Ball (2012–2013), Jackpot (2012–2013), Judge (2012–2013), Kingpin (2012), Vegas (2012–2013) and Vision (2012–2013).
Victory will notify owners, and dealers will repair the retention nuts free. The safety recall is expected to begin around Oct. 12, 2012.
