Winnebago cites parking brake defect in recall
Feb. 15, 2012—Winnebago recalled certain 2012 Access, Access Premier, Impulse and Impulse Silver motor homes that were manufactured between June 28, 2011, and Jan. 25, 2012.
The parking-brake cable can rub against a metal tube that’s under the vehicle, causing the brake cable to fail. This could result in the vehicle rolling away without warning and could lead to injury or death.
Winnebago will notify owners. Dealers will shorten the metal tube to provide clearance for the parking brake, free. The safety recall is expected to begin in March 2012.
Owners may contact Winnebago Industry Owner Relations at 641/585-6939. Owners also may contact National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888/327-4236 or go to safercar.gov.
