Winnebago recalls Itasca, Winnebago motor homes, because copper tubing might fail
Aug. 15, 2012—Winnebago recalled certain 2012–2013 Itasca and Winnebago motor homes, because a cutting machine might have scored the copper propane tubing, which would diminish the long-term reliability of the tubing. If the tubing fails, propane can escape, which might lead to a fire or explosion and property damage, personal injury or death.
The recalled Itasca models are: Cambria (2012); Impulse (2012); Impulse Silver (2012); Meridian (2012); Navion (2012); Navion iQ (2012); Reyo (2012); Suncruiser (2012); Sunova (2012); and Sunstar (2012). The recalled Winnebago models are: Access (2012); Access Premier (2012); Adventurer (2012); Aspect (2012); Chalet (2013); Era (2012); Sightseer (2012); Via (2012); View (2012); View Profile (2012); and Vista (2012).
Winnebago will notify owners, and dealers will replace the copper tubing free. The recall is expected to begin September 2012.
