The Sedona is a near-twin of the Hyundai Entourage, and like it, the vehicle is quite a bargain when it comes to its practical and versatile performance. It is driven by a 242-hp, 3.8-liter V6 that is married to a five-speed automatic that has manual-shift capability. A smooth ride and smooth handling—neither too mushy nor too stiff—are the result of the minivan’s four-wheel independent suspension. Front-side and side-curtain airbags are standard; the latter extend across all three rows of seats. Two optional safety features: Electronic Stability Control and active front headrests (to help prevent whiplash injuries in a crash). The vehicle seats eight, but the 60/40-split, third-row seat isn’t suited to larger individuals—though it does fold into the floor. Don’t expect the latest gadgets. To maintain a low sticker price, the Sedona doesn’t come with many extras. But it does have all of the things most minivan buyers expect, including adjustable brake and accelerator pedals, power-operated side doors and rear liftgate, and a backseat DVD player. The vehicle is covered by an extensive warranty.
